Skywatch Friday -- Hyper-real

This fraction of a moon looked so pretty in the sky in real life, but turned out not so well when I uploaded it. I was about to delete it after I'd finished adjusting the brightness to sort of normal, but Picture Perfect (Nikon's software) had a mind of its own, and kept darkening....and this is the result.

I like this a lot! I thought at first you used a polarizer but then read your commentary. Whatever, it came out very well; that hint of the moon is perfection!

What Jacob said. For some reason, pictures of the moon never look like what you actually saw when you looked up. But this hyper-saturated blue is just amazing—and I'll take that little slice of moon.

At first, I thought this was satellite picture from something like GoogleEarth showing an ocean and coastline. Then when I realized what it really was, I was even more impressed.

The colors are fantastic...love the contrast and the moon looks like lace. By the way, LUV your header shot!

I hate software that has a mind of it's own.

I like the fraction of the moon in the blue sky even though it seems very blue. Anyway I watch teh moon and that's a good photo then!
