Sunday Bridges--

Another view of one of the bridges leading into the fortress at Kalemegdan, over what used to be a moat.

See more bridges at Louis La Vache's Sunday Bridges.

This is so beautiful. I can't believe there is a moat under here.

Such an interesting structure. Is it a draw bridge?

The red bricks with the white stone make a wonderful story of contrast that just got better with age. I wouldn't mind crossing that bridge to see what's inside.

Hi, readers! Gaelyn and Chuck, the bridge isn't a drawbridge now, but the original one might have been.

What a marvellous bridge. I can imagine it once was a drawbridge. Love those old walls.

Is it still a drawbridge? I've never heard of Kalemegdan before so I think I'll look it up.
