Every now and then there are shots you want to take that make your adrenalin (another A!) rush to press the shutter. When I saw this workman across a busy street enjoying his pljeskavica (Serbian hamburger), I muttered an oath under my breath that I didn't have my usual zoom lens on my camera. I snapped away anyway with my 50mm and cropped.
Just look at those hands, which speak for him. Bon Appétit to him.
See other A's on ABC WEDNESDAY.

Fantastic shot!!
I love the character and oh my, those hands.
You did a great job of capturing a story in a single shot.
What a great street shot!! A Picture IS worth a thousand words...
Wonderful shot Bibi!
Amazing photo. Well done as always :)
First I noticed the face...it has seen a lot. Then I noticed the hands. They've suffered a lot. I hope he enjoyed his sandwich. Great portrait and your 50mm worked just fine!
Why is it that when I see one of your photographs I am open to how you present it, and yet if I saw this in NY or SF, I'd have all kinds of back-stories and opinions already immediately formed in my head? I really do like your candid shots of the people you find on the streets of Belgrade. In ways we cannot often comprehend, we are indeed a small world. Thank you for sharing your part of the world.
bien vu et tres beau portrait. ce portrait raconte la vie de cet homme, bravo

You have an eye of a hawk!
Wonderful portrait which speaks volumes about the subject!
What camera/lens to you usually schlep? Do you go out with the intent of finding photo ops or do you just always have the camera along in case you find a photo op? A noisy New Yorker wants to know!
Oh, I love this. Right place, right time for you, for sure. Bon appetit!
An amazing shot!
absolutely perfect shot, Bibi! What a mensch!

Your alphabetic imagination and great eye for life never cease to amaze me.
Hi, Daryl. I usually have my 18-200mm on my camera (Nikon D90), simply because it's so versatile. Murphy's Law made it so that I didn't have it when I took this photo. I have my camera with me 99% of the time, since inevitably I'll see a good shot if I don't.
People, don't say sandwich for pljeskavica... you cannot compare those two... In Serbia, even homless people have a nice snack... Too sad you could not zoom it.
You pulled it off all the same—and, yes, those hands are (A for) amazing!
With those hands I assumed he was homeless. I'm relieved to hear that is not the case.
Wonderful shot Bibi!!!
made me pity him more. he works hard to eat. My "A" for ABC Wednesday.
