ABC WEDNESDAY--"O" is for "Oh, my gosh!"

"Oh, my gosh!" is exactly what I said upon spying these remakes of a vintage plaid lunchbox I carried in grades three, four, and five.  I think a new one each year, since either the fastener loosened and my lunch fell out or else the (smaller than the big one shown) thermos cracked.

I dearly loved these lunchboxes....I can still smell the Lebanon bologna sandwiches with French's mustard (all on white  bread, of course....) that my grandmother packed for me.

If you want to see the originals, have a look at this lady's blog.

See other Os on Mrs. Nesbitt's ABC WEDNESDAY.

So these are NEW and I can buy them now? Be still my beating heart! What a great gift for the grandkids, and if they don't like them I'll pack my own lunch in one everyday.

The plaid makes one look around for a Highlander or a Scottish Terrier.

I'm with you. I don't think I ever carried such a thing but I do remember them and I also remember those bologna sandwiches.

Plaids éternels qui vont et qui viennent dans la mode d'hier et d'aujourd'hui.
Un beau souvenir pour toi.

What great memories these evoke. William's comment is yet another perspective!

Oh my goodness what a fantastic lunch box and thermos flask, not seen those before.
We always had school meals, which were quite good and nourishing, my favourite was Cheese pie served on a Friday and sponge pudding and custard...Golden days!
Best wishes,

Brings back elementary school memories for me as well. I was stuck (literally) on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Had them every day for as long as I could remember. - Margy

It's a classic, for sure. I headed off to school with a brown-bag lunch and small change to buy milk. Exact same bologna sandwich, though. :~}

The last time I seen Plaid lunch pails was at my brother's house, he collects lunch pails that he has collecting for over 30 years now.

Enjoy your post for the letter O.

SPRING FASHION

 This is a post that would be better in color, but maybe not. These colors were soooo pale.
