ABC WEDNESDAY--"S" is for "Save the Sparrows"
The population of Belgrade's mascot, the sparrow, has been declining, due to too many pigeons and crows, which overpower the little guys in a struggle for food.
Recently in Tasmajdan Park these sparrow houses were placed in several trees. At least the sparrows won't have to hustle for housing; tiny holes!
See other S-es on Mrs. Nesbitt's ABC WEDNESDAY.

A WALK IN THE WOODS
Forest not far from Belgrade. Went birding there with a friend; no birds to speak of, but the woods were still lovely.

A wonderful gesture for these tiny birds.
Hopefully it helps.
Nice to see an effort made to save the sparrows. Whatever eats pigeons and crows must be gone.
Bangalore need this movement now.
Wonderful choice of entry.... i love them, we have them in our garden regularly
Have a nice abc-day/- week

Very nice. We have one little sparrow house in our back yard. But I think the cardinals and crows intimidate them..
I've even had sparrows nest under the eaves of our house. It was a great education for our daughters when they were young, especially with the baby birds.

The decline seems to be worldwide, very strange.
Ici aussi, c'est tellement triste mais les abeilles sont les plus touchées par le déclin.
LOVE the birdhouses!
