Today would have been my late husband's 70th birthday..... He would have loved to have one of these, though they weren't good for him, or for anybody for that matter. But we could have shared one....

PICKLED RED ONIONS
My grandmother used to make these around Thanksgiving and now so have I. Great as a tart side, in salads, or in a leftover turkey sandwic...

One of my favorite pastries, good for me or not. However, I've never found any with so much puff/stuffing.
