AUGUST THEME DAY- MUSIC

Another summer month gone by, though it honestly seems like summer didn't quite make it this year, what with all the rain here.

That said, this photo was taken on a trip down to Djerdap (JER-dap) near the Romanian border.

This fellow is playing a gaida," a bagpipe from the Balkan/East European region.

Not as screechy as its Scottish counterpart, not to offend anyone!

See how others have interpreted today's theme on THEME DAY.

I am surprised to see bagpipes. My husband is a piper-- the squeaky Scottish kind! Haha ... 😂

Must be a nice sound to listen too. I like the hat, it looks warm for the summer. Great shot for the theme.

I believe one of those was played here last year during a series of events we had from various embassies.

I was wondering what it sounds like.

Great theme day post.

Interesting that there are versions of this instrument from different cultures! Really good for the theme!

I enjoy listening to the bagpipes, if someone really knows how to play.

WAITING FOR THE PARMACY TO OPEN

This fellow was reading a flyer while waiting for the pharmacy behind him to open. Nothing, special; just a slice of life.
