They're back....and hungry.
Last year I posted this photo of a dinosaur exhibit in Kalemegdan, and they're back again, and still hungry, or so it would appear.
I like how the lady's bandana echoes the colors of the dinosaur she's touching up.

ABC WEDNESDAY--"W: is for "Why?"
Why indeed, would anyone deface a beautiful building like this, or any building for that matter?

Peonies
I am often absent from Belgrade during the short peony season, but this year, since I had just returned from India, I put off my annual trip to the US until this December.
I managed to buy some peonies on the market, and photograph these at an outdoor cafe, where two men chat, oblivious to their beauty and fragrance.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS--ivy...
A view snapped from a recent river cruise. This steeple just below Belgrade's Kalemegdan fortress, is very green now, thanks to a lot of ivy, which is also growing on the rest of the building.
The reflections of course, are in the window of my river boat.

SKYWATCH--Mraconia Monastery
This is a photo of the Mraconia Monastery in Romania, seen from the Serbian side of the Danube on my way to Lepenski Vir, which I showed you on Wednesday. The area above is referred to as the Iron Gates.

Big and little
If you were reading the post yesterday, another photo of my recent day trip will appear. This one is from Belgrade....a lone kayaker paddles alongside a biiiiig barge that is actually a floating sports center....doesn't move around.

ABC WEDNESDAY--"V" is for "Lepenski Vir"
Lepnski Vir, or Lepenski Whirl, is a Mesolithic site dating from around 9500-7000 B.C. Yes, you read that right. You can read more at this link. Lepenski Vir is located along the Danube river, down towards the border with Romania at a point referred to as The Iron Gates.

Very large...
With my guest we went on a day trip, pictures from which you'll see tomorrow. On the way we passed these two gigantic tires.... Imagine they are from some huge construction vehicle... Difficult to see here, but they were taller than I am; I am 1 meter 70.

Couldn't take my eyes off....
But of course this is not me; my hair has grown a bit since I last posted, but not this much and not this color.
As soon as I returned from India, I had a guest for a week and we took a river cruise on the Danube and Sava rivers around Belgrade. I've seen the views off the boat before, and so was more interested in this girl's hair....
