Cleanliness

These tea towels were often used as kitchen wall hangings. You don't see them around much anymore, but my friend who is just as big a scrounger as I, found one at the flea market.

The embroidered text reads, 'When man doesn't clean, he's worth nothing.'  Hmmm...

Graceful in death

Oh, times are hard. I seek photos everywhere in my seclusion of green exile at a friend's.  She lives near a small wood, near a small road, and this rat obviously didn't make it across.  He was going across at a good trot, so it seems.

Thistle

If you're wondering why my photos are becoming pastoral and could be taken anywhere in the world, it's because once again I have been staying at a friend's in a green area of Belgrade, not far from the center, but in a different world.  With all the demonstrations, chaos downtown where I live, it's just more pleasant here now. And then, of course, I am more isolated from the coronavirus...  I hope you, Dear Reader, are staying safe, too.

April Cafe

Ventured out the other day to a deserted cafe terrasse, or almost, except for my friend and me.  I like this still life, curtain in the window, flowers...

The name of the cafe is April cafe, nothing to do with when I went there!

Bit of rain

A bit of rain last Sunday left these sparkling droplets on a bush in a nearby park.

Old Telephone Exchange Building

I very, very frequently pass by this building, but am ashamed to say I never gave much thought what it is, though I find it attractive. Last night, my dog stopped briefly to relieve herself, and I read the sign.

The building dates originally from 1908, two storeys, and the others were added later.  Read more about it here.

It is now used as an office building.

All was quiet...for a while...
