SKYWATCH-- THE FACE IN THE CLOUD

At first this may look like |I touched up this cloud, but it was actually like this. A phone shot and my screen was not dirty and didn't make the streaks/

SOUR CHERRIES

Not your proverbial sour grapes, but sour cherries, the kind I used to pick is a child. I'd climb up my grandmother's cherry tree and stuff my face....the cherry stains were hard to get out, but hey, I didn't have to deal with that.

These beauties come from my friend's cherry tree and I didn't even have to climb. She'd already picked them for me.

FLOWERS AND GARLIC

This wreath of dried flowers with three heads of garlic graces a doorway in Pancevo, about 12 kilometers from Belgrade. I often see wreaths like this, but without the garlic. Garlic is known for being a healthy food (I love it....), and for keeping away vampires, but that legend isn't popular here.

But just in case...

BEST FRIEND

This young woman is Dragana, who works in a coffee shop around the corner from me. I pass by nearly every day and occasionally buy some of their wonderful ground coffee. Dragana and Madhu have a love affair of sorts, since Dragana always has some small doggie treats for her. At night when the shop is closed, I have to be careful not to walk by, since Madhu sits and stares through the glass doors, waiting....and is so disappointed she's not there. I carry the same treats and give her one, and we move on.

MONDAY MURALS--VIRAL 20

Seen on a wall in the town of Ruma, about 40 minutes from Belgrade.  I googled Viral 20, but could not come up with any explanation that satisfied me. Anyone? Anyone?

SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY--helping hands

Another photo from when I was sitting on a bench in the park.  This child was having a little help from his mother.  Baby steps.

WEEKEND IN BLACK AND WHITE--shattered

For years (literally) I have passed by this window on an abandoned building near me. I imagine the building, located in a prime real estate area, must be under some sort of litigation preventing it from being sold and possibly razed.

In the meantime, the window made a lovely abstract.

SKYWATCH--Air Serbia

That's Nikola Tesla hitching a ride on this Air Serbia flight, which was returning to Belgrade's airport named after him. I hope to be heading in the other direction this fall, but most likely with another airline that has a more direct flight to where I am going.

ONE SACK--an urban still life

Artsy shot for you today. Just goes to show you that you can find a subject just about anywhere if you look. I really like how this photo turned out.

WHITE

I had these two totally unrelated photos and I thought I would post them together, side by side. I was trying to make the cat appear as if it were looking at the bird with evil intent.

Didn't quite work out the way I wanted it, but here they are anyway.

LAW AND BUSINESS SCHOOL

I have always liked this doorway on Belgrade's Law and Business School, just a few doors down from where I live.
