The Red Balloon...and The Blue Balloon...and The Yellow Balloon....
No, this is not a scene from the end of Albert Lamorisse's 1956 classic The Red Balloon, but rather a recent sighting in the Belgrade sky. Just happened to look up and there they were, floating free, off to who knows where.
Oh you beat me to my own punchline. adore that film. It brings a tear to this cynical eye every time. Simply wonderful. Don't you just want to float away with them.
I hope you and yours are on in abteer place too. Take extra care.
Your photographs are beautiful but more importantly, for me, they have remarkable composition and content. I feel like I'm learning something about Belgrade. It's been on my mind lately that if I'm going to visit someon's blog I'm not as interested in their technical proficiency as I am with their POV and yours is wonderful.
WOW... what a great catch. I'd like to think of this as a positive sign sent especially to you. I loved the classic, The Red Balloon. It was read to me as a child and we have read it to our son as well.

Looks like a scene from one of those Public Television documentaries about the life cycle. A great shot with perfect framing.
Such a joyful picture. You must of been quick with the camera to capture the moment.
this is such a rare shot! it makes me happy too :)
You looked up, you saw them and you had your camera with you and ready to go. Well done!

What a joyful picture! Isn't it amazing to be in the right place and time to catch such a beautiful picture - with your camera actually within reach!

Beautiful photo!!!
I was thinking of that beautiful film too! I made my boys watch it recently:)
Thanks, folks. I always carry my camera with me, since I realized that I tend to miss really good shots when I don't have it.
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts for my husband. We are still praying, too.
i like this one.
although releasing balloons is frowned upon now as the majority of them end up in the ocean, mistaken as 'food'.
Very cool shot...
Another reason to keep that camera ready...
It made me laugh. Funny!
How lucky was that shot. Great timing!
Very nice photo.
I remember The Red Balloon! Nice pic, I wonder if there were a couple of dozen crying children down below with their arms upstretched!
Thanks for your diligent commenting on my blog while I was on holiday! I think I am finally getting back into the blogging groove!
Serendipity!
A happy photo to post - and we know that this is a time when you can use some happiness.
"Louis" and your many other friends in the blogosphere are with you and your family in spirit even if we cannot be there in person.
One good thought by balloon!
hope it's a good celebration, not a sad event.
The perfect Sky Watch photo!
Well done Bibi!

And who knows what messages they carry or what their purpose was or what they mean to someone?
What a great shot for Skywatch Friday.
What beautiful balloons floating up in the sky! Great photo!!
This is a wonderful sky watch shot, such serendipity.
Sending some positive karma your way for you and your loved ones.

Such a fun picture. I love the tadpoles in the sky!
Fun one! Hope there weren't a bunch of screaming kids somewhere crying that they'd lost their balloon!
Bibi: A wonderful capture of a celebration.
