'Opanci'

I photographed these opanci (OH-pahn-tsee) that I showed you once before here at the Ethnographic Museum downtown. Please click on that link, for there are some wonderful photographs of the exhibits inside. A museum not to miss should you come to Belgrade.

We missed this museum on our visit to Belgrade! That won't happen next time.

Our son just spent a long weekend in Belgrade with both work and our family and as always, had a wonderful time.

One thing you can say for sure: People in Belgrade have soul! I mean sole!

Rather unique moccasins while at the same time similar to our native American types.

How fascinating. Amazing shoes. You make a painting out of everything, Bibi.

Beautifully composed and yes, Jacob is right, they look very much like those of our Native Americans. Great shot.

Very interesting. They remind me of a pair of slippers that I used to have. I'd love to go to that museum.
