Coffee and cake

Went over to my friend Nena's place the other day, and she offered me a cup of Turkish coffee and some of her homemade fruit and nut cake. All I can do for you is offer you a photo....but I hope you will enjoy it!

Turkish coffee ROCKS! I don't subscribe to the terminology like "Serbian coffee" (or "Greek coffee" for that matter). It is what it is - Turkish coffee.

Excellent photo - I cup is so pretty, the cake with the walnut table looks rich and yummy. Does that bring back memories!

I have a recording of my grandma & I singing that in 1986 - a treasure.
Da li Nena gata?
I had a really good cup of Turkish coffee just recently...in Dayton, Ohio (of all places) in a Turkish restaurant (of course). I did flip the cup. My aunt (mom's sister) used to be a popular coffe grounds reader.

PS - on visiting Ballard Locks - I bet you've seen a lot more cultural sights than I have in Seattle though - I think the locks are an engineering-appeal thing.

And a lovely photo it is! As delightful for the eyes as it must have been for the tongue. I love that the coffee still has a little froth around the edges.

This is a post that would be better in color, but maybe not. These colors were soooo pale.
