Retro

These retro chairs remind me of those I had in my grandmother's garden as a child.  I remember sitting on them on a hot day, or trying to...ow.

Seen in the Capital Hill area of Seattle.

i'd forgotten all about that, but yes, i remember, too, those burning hot chairs on my bare thighs and the backs of my knees.

These chairs were ubiquitous back in the day - the 50s and 60s, I believe. I never much like them, though, 'cause they weren't comfortable and as you say they got very hot out in the sun!

My thoughtful grandmother kept towels handy so we wouldn't get burned. These look to be in pretty good condition, considering . . .

  A beautiful urban sunset over New Belgrade. The 'smoke' from the stacks on the left is actually just steam from the heating plant....
