ABC WEDNESDAY--"D" is for "deceased"

A cell phone photo I took in a cemetery in Gornje Grbice, near Kragujevac, where I attended the funeral of a very good friend's mother. It always saddens me to see neglected graves.

See other D's on Mrs. Nesbitt's ABC WEDNESDAY.

I agree that neglected graves are sad but they do make for more interesting photos.
Sorry for your friends loss.

mes condoléances pour ton amie. Les tombes a l'abandon ont aussi leur charme, dans le cimetiere russe de st genevieve les vieilles tombes a l'abandon sont recouvertes par arbres, la nature reprenant c'est droit

I noted just this summer some untended graves of my ancestors. Getting the shears...

Call me morbid or weird but I have always found graveyard fascinating for photography.

I have photos of two children's graves who died a hundred years ago, and also photos of the same gravesites as they were ten years ago, - so sad to see them neglected, with all the family gone who used to tend them.

Le temps et la nature recouvrent bien des choses.

It's a gorgeous shot. I hate to see neglected graves too (even if they do make for interesting photos); I'll just let my kids scatter my ashes somewhere fitting.

Interesting shot...the color and focus add to the feelings of sadness and neglect...very impactful...
My condolences for your and your friend's loss...

SPRING FASHION

This is a post that would be better in color, but maybe not. These colors were soooo pale.
