It's that time of year again....

...when toy stores will do just about anything to lure kids inside. Not sure how effective this is for the kids (it must be...), but it sure worked on me.  This dinosaur, whose head looks like that of a tyrannosaurus, but whose body resembled that of a raptor, was roaring and moving in a very life-like manner.  A little boy and his mother emerged from a nearby underground passage way, and he let out a scream and headed back down.

So much for the visit to the toy store.

Daily Haiku
Did they ever think
One day they'd be just fossils
Same is true for us

Did they think little kids wouldn't run screaming?? (Well maybe not all of them. My brother Chris was mad for dinos from the time he was 3, and would have been thrilled to be surprised by this scary creature—still would be, probably).

I like that fact that the kid has a well developed sense of self preservation.

That was a powerful well worded haiku.

That is so funny but I can see how it would scare a small child - especially if it were roaring! Can't miss it, though, so as an advertising tool I'm sure it's effective.
