PUMPKINS, PEARS, PERSIMMONS, KIWIS....


 An autumnal still life from a local grocer's stand. Halloween is the reason that this type of pumpkin is now seen here. When I came to "Yugoslavia" in 1977, few persimmons and kiwis were not available, let alone heard of.

It was the same way here in the US with different fruits and vegetables. You'd find local things mostly. I think it was the late 80's before I ever saw a kiwi.

I've never had persimmons.

IT'S DRY

Hot and dry. Leaves on the ground crunch when you walk through them and it seems the green ones are hanging on for dear life.
