Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate.
This red egg is called the 'čuvar kuće,' (CHOO-var KOO-chay) or 'guardian of the house' and is usually the first egg colored. Of course it is hard-boiled and stands on a shelf all year long to protect the family and house from harm.

Different. I do eat a few more eggs during Easter.
How interesting, I like this tradition and think having it all year long is the best thing to do. I like your egg holder and salt and pepper cuties too. I grew up with egg holders too!
