SUNDAY BRIDGES--the land bridge
Taken while waiting for the ferry to Bainbridge Island and ever-searching for a bridge photo.

Weekend Reflection--a dentist's dream
But these apples are good. This shop will happily cut one up into pieces for you, so you can share the guilt, if not your dentist bill.

ABC WEDNESDAY "O" is for "obequitate "
Over a cup of coffee with Chuck, another blogger from Seattle, I mentioned this giraffe I'd photographed while obequitating in the Wedgwood area or Seattle. He told me he'd already posted it, and so he had, right here, with rhododendrons in bloom and a much brighter sky.
Last Monday I told you that you always learn something through blogs, so now you know, if you've clicked on the first link, what to "obequitate" means. I was in desperate need of an "O".
See other "O"s" on ABC WEDNESDAY.

I am the captain of my soul
"I am the captain of my soul," I learned from the the Internet and indirectly from this Seattle pedestrian, is the last line of the poem "Invictus," by the English poet, William Ernest Henley (1849–1903). "...It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul."
I also learned from the above link that "At the age of 12, Henley fell victim to tuberculosis of the bone...the disease progressed to his foot, and physicians announced that the only way to save his life was to amputate directly below the knee...Stoicism inspired him to write this poem..."
So, now you've learned something, too.

So many hands on me!
Are you confused? My recent photos have been of Seattle, and of course you can see that this one is of Baby Mila at bathtime, here in Belgrade. In cyberspace, I'm still in Seattle, simply because I don't have time to flit around the city now taking photos. The hand in the foreground belongs to my 87-year-old mother, whom I've brought back here with me. Health care is very expensive in the US, and here for a quarter of the price, she has the same care, and is only a phone call away.In any case, I posted this photo because today is my daughter's birthday, and some say Baby Mila looks a bit like her! The other hands belong to my son and daughter-in-law, and mine, as usual, were holding my camera.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAUGHTER TODAY!! (Be patient for Belgrade photos...I've uploaded Seattle thru Halloween....)
