Vanity plates...I get a kick out of reading them.
This one appropriately advertises El Gaucho Inn and restaurants, located in various cities in the Pacific Northwest.

SKYWATCH---Lake Sammamish
A view of Lake Sammamish from my in-laws' terrace.
Blue skies are still smiling on the Seattle area, but only until Sunday....

The artist and his craft
Too bad I wasn't able to take this photo for the May 1st theme day of artists and their crafts. Some of you readers may recognize Seattle's Chuck Pefley, who has (at least for now) put aside his photo blog to dedicate himself to crafting exquisitely beautiful glasswork, which you can view on his Etsy site.
If you're in Seattle, you can drop by the Pike Place Market, and if lucky, you'll hit one of the days Chuck is at his stand.

ABC WEDNESDAY--Q is for "quite a contrast"
I'm always stumped by the letter Q for ABC Wednesday, and this is a bit of a cop-out. Couldn't resist posting these brilliant flowers for you today.
See other and probably better Q's on ABC WEDNESDAY.

Yellow Sun
Yesterday it was Black Sun and today a sunnier version of a mini-sun, a flower whose center I'd wanted to photograph with my new camera. A bee photobombed my shot, and here he is.

Black Sun
This past weekend the sun has been anything but black, hurrah! Forecast is more sun this week. This statue, entitled Black Sun, dates from 1969 and is located in Seattle's Volunteer Park.

SUNDAY BRIDGES--the bridge camera
Bridge cameras are defined as those that bridge the gap between simpler point-and-shoots and larger SLRs.
Meet my D90's little brother (or maybe sister?), the Nikon Coolpix P510. This camera was recommended to me by the Nikon shop in Belgrade, but over there it costs about $100 more...so I took advantage of my current trip to the US to buy one through Amazon.com, where the price was super-good.
It has some drawbacks and won't replace my D90, but it also has quite a few pluses.
Want to read more and maybe get one? Check out this camera on AMAZON. In the meantime, check out real bridges on Louis La Vache's SUNDAY BRIDGES.

WEEKEND REFLECTION--more glasses...
Not a terribly original or new photo for this blog, but I'm trying to do shots between grandson's naps, short trips to the grocery store....
These glasses stood on my in-laws' countertop when they had us over for dinner.

Retro
These retro chairs remind me of those I had in my grandmother's garden as a child. I remember sitting on them on a hot day, or trying to...ow.

THEME DAY--Craftsmen
There are a couple of places I always visit when in Seattle, and one of them is Beecher's Handmade Cheese store at the Pike Place Market. Half the fun is watching the craftsmen make the various cheeses. In the bottom photo you can see my little pot of their macaroni and cheese with peppers. Yum...
Read more about Beecher's right here.
