Silhouette of spring

It's been warm and cold off and on, and on Tuesday when I took this photo, it was cold and gray. But you can see that new buds are bursting out, while there's still a dead leaf hanging on. Symbolic.

To me that looks like frost on the branches and buds.

PICKLED RED ONIONS

  My grandmother used to make these around Thanksgiving and now so have I.  Great as a tart side, in salads, or in a leftover turkey sandwic...
