Those Who Sell Me Flowers

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Gavrilović (Gah-VREEL-o-veetch), This pleasant couple parks their Yugo, full of flowers from their little weekend house not far from Belgrade, on a street corner near where I live nearly every weekend beginning right now to around the end of September. This photo is from last fall, but they're back now with spring flowers! Last weekend I bought lots of daffodils, and am waiting for their fresh basil....

Thursday is market's day but there are no flowers around... so I buy daffodils at Trader Joe's, my favorite place. Do Mr and Mrs Gavrilović sell tarragon? I haven't been able to find any for the last two years.

How fun for you to have them bring their lovely garden offerings so close by. There is nothing like the color and scent of fresh flowers in the house. I wish I could afford to have them all the time. I like the colors of their dahlias, and seeing their smiles.

@Therese, no, I haven't seen tarragon here at all, though I bet someone has it. It's not commonly used here.

They look like the kindest, sweetest, couple. How wonderful to find a husband and wife team enjoying their time together. So often we go off in different directions. Truly a marriage! And oh to surround oneself with the sweet smells and beautiful colors of flowers.

A beautiful image and story, Bibi! Would love to have some of that fresh basil now. As you know, it's mid to late summer here before it gets hot enough for basil to do well.
