Impressions of Belgrade and Serbia and maybe photos from an in-country trip by a long-term ex-pat.

Crisp, clean, and waiting
Had lunch the other day at my favorite restaurant for outdoor lunches, Vuk. My friend and I were early, but the tables were already set with crisp, clean, white tablecloths and napkins, while this pile stood waiting.
There is something very special about dining in a place which uses white linen! Maybe that's 'cause I usually eat in places where standing is the safest thing to do!
I wish more restaurants here did that instead of using butcher paper on top of a tablecloth that stays the whole evening. I'm guessing the H2O is too expensive here on the Central CA Coast to wash tablecloths versus throwaway, cheap paper.
Actually, I came by looking for the cabbage-head lady. Loved that! Maybe because it's not Wednesday?

Somehow I'm not surprised to learn that your fave place uses real linen. And I'm sure the food is great too—of course.
Rien ne vaut une jolie table avec une simple nappe blanche.
There is something so European about dining al fresco.
