SKYWATCH: Cold on Kalemegdan

It was  bitter cold when I took this photo.  I somehow feel the need for long walks when it's really cold. Bibi does not share my opinion, and would be quite happy walking around the block.

ABC WEDNESDAY "Z" is for "zoomer"

A new word for me, and possibly for you. I'm always at a loss for Z words.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines 'zoomer' as:  a baby boomer (born between 1946-1964) who is energetic and adventurous in retirement, who rejects traditional, passive stereotypes associated with aging and retirement. —David J. Demko, PhD, www.demko.com/zoomers.htm, 1998

So I am one.  Are you?  That's me in the brown trousers and black top on the step on the left during my last trip to India in 2013.  Getting itchy to go again.

Granny Smith

These are Granny Smith apples and they are a lovely shade of green.  But you've seen green ones, so I did them in sepia.  The apples are now history and they were good....

This lady was carefully picking her way down an icy street. Looks like I was a bit concerned about my own movements when I sneaked this shot, since she's a bit blurred....

Wet, cold, and icky

Snow here, but not much. Melting, and nowhere near as pretty as this photo might be.

Hey--no Coke?

This sign, which had the same text written in Serbian on the other side, stands in front of a bookstore downtown.  Looks like the Coca Cola people furnished the board, but seems as if there's no option for Coke here.

1944's Coke slogan was simply, "How about a Coke?", so maybe that's reason enough.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015

"Where did the year go?" some ask, and indeed, they fly by fast....

This photo is an 'old' one of mine, and except possibly for the more modern buildings on the horizon, could be one from long ago.

Waiting in the cold....

Snowed on Sunday and these two dogs were faithfully waiting in the cold by the outdoor market near me.  They don't seem as unhappy as I would be, should I be seated on the cold pavement!
