This dog has been by the side of the major highway near my home every day since early last fall. He's usually lying down right next to the road's edge, sleeping, waiting... Yesterday I took some food to him, but when I approached he skitted off and watched at me warily. I'm sure he's one of Belgrade's many abandoned dogs that must have been tossed out at this place, and is waiting....for his owner's return. Very, very sad.Sunday, April 6, 2008

Nice of you to try. You're probably right about the abandonment. Curious why the dog doesn't try to find it's way back "home", though. We often hear pretty fantastic stories about the lengths and distances dogs in particular go to in order to get home.
Honestly, this is heart breaking. The dog was dumped at this spot and is there waiting for its owner to pick him up. His mission in life is the arrival of his owner. It is awful.
The photography is very good.
