Terazije (Teh-RAHZ-ee-yeh) Theatre (read more here) is a very popular theater, showing fabulous musicals, for the most part. You can't see its entrance here, but on this large square is the back of the theater, which I'd never really paid attention to before. But look! Up out of the flat stones of the square rises this elevator that loads and unloads heavy props. I was fascinated to see it rise, since I never even knew it existed.

That would be a surprising event, seeing that thing come up out of the ground!
I'm sure you're not the only one that missed that elevator. I suppose when it's down there's only brick to see. You have an inquisitive eye.
Kind of like the Olympics opening ceremonies ... suspense rising from what you thought was a solid floor! You are a curious sort as Gaelyn suggests.
Reminds me of the Tomorrowland Stage at D-land when I was a kid. the band used to rise up out of the floor on a stage that rose and lowered like this. What a fun find for you, and exciting for us to see, too :-).

"...pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"
Impressive!
Your eye sees everything Bibi.
HA, this reminds me of a little cafe by our apt. in Paris. In the middle of the room, they lifted a portion of the floor and up came a small elevator used to take the big trashcan up and down! Of course as you know, the steps in those places are too narrow and windy for that.

Isn't a discovery like this great, esp. when you think you've seen the place many times.
When we saw the Met broadcast at the movies, the intermission was so much fun cuz they showed the stage being set-up.
Lovely model on the poster. Great framing for the photo!
