Had lunch with some friends the other day in Gig Harbor, and these were reflections of nearby pines in the water.

He who sits and watches
Bought this gargoyle for my mother's garden, but he now resides in my daughter and son-in-law's front lawn. He never seems to tire of the view....the fragrant Spanish lavender is a treat.

ABC WEDNESDAY "T": is for "Tired"
Tired it is, when you're an energetic two-year-old. My grandson Luka is all tuckered out in this photo and soon will hit the sack, not the ottomans you see here.

Spitbugs!
Spitbugs are something I remember from my childhood in Pennsylvania....running through the field behind our house and having my legs 'spat upon' by these little guys (gals) who lay their eggs in what looks like saliva. You can read about spitbugs if you click here.

What the heck?
Here I am posting from Seattle, but the Fates are not with me. Every now and then, and this post is a case in point, Blogger chooses to post my photos upside down or sideways.... I've tried to rotate them myself in such a way that I hope when they upload they'll be correct, but to no avail. Googling sent me to a site telling me to go to my blog's Picasa Web Album and rotate it. The link given gives me an 'Internal Error' message.
Anyone know how to resolve this? I'd really like to post the rest of my Seattle photos right side up...
(Haikus on hold for a while.)

SKYWATCH -- The Avala Tower....and the golden arches...
The Avala Tower in the distance, a newer rendition of the original tower destroyed in the NATO bombing of 1999.
And those golden arches are visible, too.....globalization in the worst sense.

SHADOW SHOT--the blue parasol
I am now in Seattle where I had expected rain, but haven't seen it yet. Serbia is undergoing heavy flooding, the worst in 120 years.
Though the Sava river here appears muddy where it joins the Danube, indicating rains upstream, the day I took this photo about two weeks ago was sunny, and this umbrella was used as a parasol.

"Hejt" No More
Serbian is a phonetic language and 'j' is pronounced as a 'yuh', so 'hejt' is pronounced 'hate'. Not sure if this was an accidental misspelling, or if 'hejt' refers to something else...dunno what.
No haiku for a while. I am physically now in the US, but in cyberspace I'll be in Belgrade for another week! Just to get over jet-lag....then photos of Seattle.

ABC WEDNESDAY--"R" is for (Dusko) Radovic
Dusko Radovic was a children's writer, journalist, poet and aphorist, and I remember him fondly. He died in 1984, and this is a photo of his newly-renovated children's theater, with St. Marko' Cathedral behind it.

The squirrel from hell
A man was feeding this squirrel the other day in the park, and some others were taking photos. I joined in. From my angle he appeared a bit dark, so I used the flash....with this result. I was going to correct the squirrel's hellish eyes, but then I remembered this post.

ABC WEDNESDAY "Q" is for "quietly"
This Illyrian Sheepdog, or Å ar Mountain Dog seems much more interested in having his photo taken than in the cat quietly padding by right in front of him.
