Had some Mexican food the other evening when Seattle was blessed with warm weather, like it is again today, hurrah. These friendly mariachi singers played for us and were pleased with my baby Spanish...which was much improved after my second margarita...

Yakima, a town in Eastern Washington, produces some of the best cherries I've ever tasted. And here they are! I must say that in the time this photo uploaded, these cherries were history....

Three cheers for the Red, Blue, and White!

He did it! Yesterday Novak Djokovic won at Wimbledon, making him Number 1 in tennis world-wide.

Congratulations to him and to Serbia, whose flag is three stripes of red, blue, and white, and Happy Fourth of July to my American readers, whose flag is red, white, and blue!

And to the English as well, since Wimbledon is in England, and their flag is those same three colors, too!

I'll be returning to Belgrade very soon, but not soon enough to greet Novak upon his return.

ABC Wednesday: xanthocyanopsy

I don't know what you do, but when ABC WEDNESDAY comes around, I just go through my photos and find one that fits. Or I make it fit, like I did this one of a pair of stockings and stocking covers that I spied at the Pike Place Market. XANTHOCYANOPSY is defined as "a form of color blindness in which only yellows and blue can be perceived." So a woman suffering from XANTHOCYANOPSY would love these. Come to think of it, she would like any stockings that strike her fancy, I guess, since she'd only be able to see those two colors.

Oh, well. Like I said, I just make the photo fit. :)

Not a truffle

Not even a glazed jelly doughnut. This is some sort of white/orange fungus, growing on a log in Hamlin Park in Seattle. Bibi is however, sniffing it with her 'truffe', the French word for both a dog's nose and a truffle!

Accessories for the fashionable biker

Rather than sneak a shot as I usually do, I asked this biker if I could photograph his fancy jewelry and tattoos.. He said, "Sure, but first you gotta listen to the stories that go with 'em." So I did, but they're too long to relate here, albeit REALLY interesting.
